In 2020, our family Mark, Marta and two children packed up our home in Dawson City, Yukon and moved over 7,000 km to the South Shore of Nova Scotia to live out a lifelong dream of farming.
We enjoy being challenged by life and have often opted for the less beaten path. From living off grid in the Yukon and now onto the greener pastures of sheep farming. Neither of us had an agricultural background, we have jumped in with both feet and are learning as we go.
Our love for a handmade home will often find us with dirt under our nails and cupboards full of preserves from our garden. Our children embrace the chance to cuddle a sheep and are quick to name any with a distinguishing feature.
When we are not chasing sheep, we can be found on the slopes, paddling a canoe or most likely in a hockey arena. This adventure keeps our plates full, our heads spinning mildly and our bodies sore. Some days we we feel overwhelmed but we take pleasure in the challenge.
